Hiking routes to the Brandalm

Here you will find route descriptions of how to get to our Brandalm, with views of the Dachstein Südwand and the opposing Schladminger Tauern.







Starting from the Edelbrunn - the gentle route
Starting point is the car park of the Gasthof Edelbrunn or directly from the Brandhof. After approx. 15 minutes you come to the Dachsteinhaus. You could also drive up this far by car. After another 350 m the path splits. Carry on walking to the right and you come to the Brandalm in approx. 45 mins.



5 Hut Path
The 5 hut circular path can be walked in approx. 4-5 hrs.
The Brandalm is one of the possible refreshment stops along the walk.


Starting from the Türlwandhütte - valley station of the Dachstein cable car
Along a gentle downward footpath you reach the Brandalm in approx. 45 minutes.


Along the Peter Rossegger Trail
A footpath leads upwards to the right of the Gasthof Edelbrunn to a clearing where the path splits. The Peter Rossegger Trail leads off to the left through light forest up to the Brandriedel. From there you have a fabulous view of the Enns Valley, the Dachstein range and the Hohe Tauern with glittering glacier fields. The last part of the path is somewhat more demanding. Then continue on downwards to the Brandhütte.



Jungfrauen Trail
At the fork in the path after the Gasthof Edelbrunn the Jungfrauen Trail leads off to the right over steep terrain up to the Gamsfeldgassl, walking time approx. 1.5 hrs. From there to the right over the Edelgries up into the high alpine region. Heading down to the left over mountain pasture you come to the Brandalm.
