Mt Dachstein
The number 1 excursion destination has to be Mt Dachstein – and at its foot sits our Brandalm. With its glacier, breathtaking views, and a wide range of leisure activities such as hiking and skiing, this majestic mountain in the Austrian Alps is probably the most famous of all the sights near Ramsau.

Dachstein suspension bridge
This impressive bridge leads over a gorge at Mt Dachstein and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountain landscape. It’s one metre wide and hangs 400 metres over the depths.

Dachstein Skywalk
The platform at a lofty height rewards those who seek an adrenaline rush with a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. It feels like you’re floating above the clouds!

Dachstein crossing
This is a challenging mountain tour that circles Mt Dachstein and takes adventurers through spectacular landscapes and Alpine challenges. It’s 25 kilometres long and starts at the mountain station of the glacier cable car.

Silberkarklamm gorge
The picturesque gorge near Mt Dachstein is a sight to behold with its steep rock faces and roaring waterfalls. It’s worth a visit from May to October – it’s closed in winter.

Dachstein Südwand hut
The Dachstein Südwand hut can be reached from the valley station of the Dachstein cable car via an easy and well-marked path (approx. 35 minutes on foot). It’s a good starting point for numerous hikes, via ferratas, and climbing routes on the south face of Mt Dachstein.

Hofpürgl hut
This cosy mountain hut is located at the foot of Mt Grosse Bischofsmütze and can be reached in a day trip from Brandhof. With its breathtaking location in front of the rock faces, it’s one of the most photographed sights in Ramsau.

Lake Spiegelsee
The name of this idyllic mountain lake on Mt Dachstein translates to “mirror lake”, and it certainly lives up to it: Its calm surface creates a mirror-like reflection of the surrounding landscape and invites you to linger and take photos. It’s also known as the middle Lake Gasselsee. The leisurely hike from the mountain station of the Preunegg-Jet cable car, which takes around 45 minutes to the lake, is perfect for families.

Wilde Wasser themed trail
The 14.5-kilometre-long Wild Waters themed trail leads through an impressive gorge, over high suspension bridges, and past small, quiet mountain lakes. It’s quite fascinating due to its different views of natural water formations.

Admont Benedictine Abbey
The historic Benedictine monastery is a testament to its spiritual and cultural significance, showcasing magnificent architecture, an abundant library, and artistic ceiling paintings.
